About TEREZÍN
- Terezín (Theresienstadt) was a fortress town used by the Nazis during World War II as a Jewish ghetto and concentration camp. Tens of thousands died here, and it served as a transit point to Auschwitz and other camps. Today it is a memorial and museum — a place of remembrance and reflection.
- A private trip gives you the space to visit at your own pace, without the schedule of a large group, and to take the quiet time that a place like this deserves.
- The Ghetto Museum, documenting daily life and the fate of the prisoners
- The Small Fortress, used as a Gestapo prison
- The Columbarium, crematorium and National Cemetery
- A knowledgeable, respectful driver who gives you space and time
Where to go

Terezín Memorial (Památník Terezín)
What to see: The Ghetto Museum, the Magdeburg Barracks, the Small Fortress and the cemetery. The memorial is spread across the town and the nearby fortress, so it helps to have transport between the sites — which a private trip provides. Allow time; it's a moving and substantial visit.

FAQ
How long is the drive from Prague?
About 1 hour each way, roughly 60 km north of Prague. The drive itself is calm and straightforward.
How much time should we allow?
Most visitors spend 3–4 hours at the memorial, plus the drive — usually 5 to 6 hours door to door. It's a substantial and emotional visit; we don't rush it, and you can take as much time as you need at each site.
Is there a guided tour?
The memorial offers guided tours in English, which many visitors find adds important context. You can arrange one through the memorial directly — see their official website. Your driver will take you between the different sites (the museum, the Small Fortress and the cemetery), which are spread out around the town.
Where do we have lunch?
There are a few simple restaurants in and around Terezín. Many visitors prefer a quiet lunch after the visit rather than before — your driver can recommend a calm spot, or we can stop in nearby Litoměřice, a pleasant riverside town about 10 minutes away with more choice.
Is Terezín suitable for children?
The subject matter is difficult, so it's best for older children and teenagers who are learning about this history. Parents know their children best — we're happy to help you plan a visit that's right for your family. Note that our car isn't fitted with child seats — bring your own if needed and we'll help install it.
Can we combine Terezín with anything?
Many visitors like to stop in nearby Litoměřice afterwards — a charming historic town on the Elbe river — for a quiet lunch or a walk, as a gentle contrast to the morning. It's a short drive and doesn't change the fixed price. Just let us know.
